Walking Down that Hill

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

I have started putting up my late September comics, you can read them here. I also noticed last night that somewhere along the line I screwed up my links and tags and stuff on the site here, so apologies if you have been having troubles. Hopefully I can repair it.

ITEM: What is with this weird humid weather. Vancouver doesn’t really do humid! I walk up the hill and there is this moisture on my forehead that feels more like condensation than sweat.

ITEM: I finished up the August comics at last. You can read the last segment here.

ITEM: Had a good time at Word on the Street on Sunday. Ed put True Loves book one on the Treasure Hunt Book Bag thing, so there are theoretically a bunch of people out there enjoying the Loves. As I talked to people I realized there is one page in TL1 that was set basically right where we were sitting. Also, it didn’t rain on us. AND it was nice to see kids get excited by the comics Mr. Wong had on display at the table next to us.

Links and rants

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

A brief rant: I do not skateboard, but it seems like a waste of money to put big signs on the main drag/hill here in North Vancouver saying “SKATEBOARDING ON LONSDALE IS ILLEGAL AND YOU WILL BE FINED” like that is really that big a problem? I have seen two fender benders in the past month, no skateboarders involved. The bad drivers of North Van seem like a bigger issue to me, but then I am biased against cars.

Anyhow, here is another Page 100:
Bruce Otter takes on Illuminatus!, by Robert Shea and Robert Anton Wilson.

And here is a page from my July comics for my YEAR 40 Project. Last month I decided to try to draw a comic’s worth of pages in one weekend. It mostly worked. You can follow along as they appear here.

A Bit of Tidying Up

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

I decided on the weekend that I should really have my Year 40 Project displayed properly, so I am in the midst of moving things over to Webcomicsnation. I am putting links over here as I go. Currently I’m posting a page a day of the stuff I drew at the start of May, in Toronto.

Also, there was another lovely page submitted for the Page 100 Project: Sabriel by Arkonbey

I have watched a whole pile of movies recently, but two stood out as really exceptional. Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans and the Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus. Boy both of them just beautiful and strange and wonderful. I need to remember to watch awesome movies.

Some More of April

Thursday, April 8th, 2010

I am continuing with this un-journal sort of thing. Here are some more…

30 Days of Unjournal

Saturday, April 3rd, 2010

I think “30 Days of…” is a thing people sometimes do in April. So I am going to attempt 30 days of a sort of journal comic. Stuff that happens, but that I don’t appear in. We’ll see how that goes.
