The Recipe and more
I forgot a couple of things I meant to mention yesterday:
This great interview with Patton Oswalt. I found his discussion of how his comedy has changed as he ages interesting. And how doing a movie that turns out great or one that turns out crappy are both interesting experiences. He gets anecdotes from both. And the culture of crabbing and bitching on the internet, how that energy could be used better.
Also, Andrew who made the True Loves App, has made a store for comics on the i-pads and pods. Check it out! If you do comics and are interested in getting them on the i-things, drop him a line.
This guy Jess Smart Smiley is trying to raise money to print up his graphic novel about rogue bikes, the Chain Gang. I don’t know him, but it looks kind of cute. Also I was intrigued because he did a drawing a day of Conan O’Brien in an attempt to get on Conan’s show (which didn’t work out but hey that is kind of neat).
And finally here is the recipe for what True and Zander were eating in this week’s True Loves 3.
Tomato Yum Yum
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 cloves garlic minced
1 chili, seeded and minced
3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup fresh basil
1 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp ground pepper
4 tomatoes, quartered
1. Heat up the BBQ
2. In a medium bowl, whisk oil, lemon juice, garlic, chili, and Worcestershire sauce. Add basil and set aside.
3. Sprinkle tomatoes with salt and pepper. Sear tomato wedges on the BBQ, turning frequently until brown on all sides
4. Toss tomatoes with basil mixture. Serve immediately with bread.
This is a recipe from eating well magazine from years ago. I couldn’t find it on their site, so I have paraphrased it here. (They called it a Grilled Tomato Salad)
