None of us had an available venue in mind though, and any possibility ended up unavailable. From the 24 Hour Comic Day website I saw that there was a store in Yaletown holding an event and so as a last ditch destination, Joseph and I pledged to meet up there. In my happy go lucky way I assumed that they would be available on a walk-in basis. As it turns out the store in question requires participants to raise $100 in pledges before the 24hr Comics Day, so that just wasn't happening. I ran off to a downtown internet cafe and posted to the message board a new plan, whereby I would be at coffee shop x, bar y and then later [when Ed was off work] at bar z. I went to coffee shop x, and started drawing. In this commentary, the text in italics represents notes written in my sketchbook while I was doing the comic.
