The waitress was very nice, and seemed sort of curious or respectful of our drawing. She showed us a robot someone had drawn for her for a tip the week before, which she had hung up by the bar. We couldn't quite figure out if someone we knew had done the drawing at Ed's birthday the week before. I did a drunken robot of my own for her collection. WW had a long ways to wind home east to Burnaby, and I had to make my way back to the distant North Shore. He had that edge of long distance late night commute panic, which I can understand.

The location in this strip is inspired very loosely by the Coombs Market on Vancouver Island.
