home board email I was pleased by the phrase 'racist caricature' even if I couldn't quite figure out how to spell it. I was also enjoying the minimal colouring of the skin here. Drawing on Kent Williams or Jon J. Muth's influence, from way back when painted comics written by JM DeMattias were all the rage. One of those guys always had a lot of red on the cheeks and noses. I wasn't sure how relentless I wanted to be in the crushing of the guy's dreams. So I let the magazine continue to guide me. |
