Had a fortifying breakfast with the Beautiful Manien. Though I worked a little later than her. In my department, Wednesday was a day of small orders. A constant stream of small orders. While my manager did paperwork upstairs. Also upstairs, Manien was not having a good day at all. Down on the floor, my shift went by quickly if nothing else. Manien left work at four, to go to an orientation at the YWCA where she had recently joined. At five I got to head home for some downtime. I didn't end up getting my downtime. Manien's orientation hadn't materialized and a woman she asked for help was mean and unhelpful. After her awful day at work Manien just wasn't up to dealing with more frustration and disappointment. I ran to buy some soothing beer (stat!). Then I made bobotie for dinner It is a ground meat dish from South Africa. Manien is originally from South Africa. For best results, have bobotie with chutney, coconut and sliced bananas. I know! Bananas and meat?! It sounds crazy, but tastes great. We watched a crappy movie with Hugh Jackman.
